The Client
Public Health England (now part of the UK Health Security Agency), through its Start4Life programme, delivers trusted NHS advice and practical guidance to parents-to-be and families with babies and young children — helping them understand the importance of the first 1,000 days of life and supporting healthy feeding habits from birth.
The Brief
As part of an ongoing relationship with PHE, we were commissioned to create a series of films to help parents and carers access healthy weaning recipes as part of the Start4Life initiative.
The Approach
Rather than a traditional top-down recipe format, we filmed real families in their own kitchens, capturing the genuine pleasure of cooking and eating together. Eight films — including Pizza Pitta Faces and Tasty Veggie Chilli — were delivered by email over four weeks to families who’d signed up to the campaign, giving them a structured, cook-along series to follow at home. We handled every stage — recipe development, casting, location sourcing, scripting and storyboarding — with a Home Economist and Food Stylist working alongside the director.
The Result
The films were warmly received by PHE. As Sofie-Eliza Price at PHE put it: “Just to let you know that the first 2 recipe videos for Pizza Pitta Faces and Tasty Veggie Chilli are LIVE. We think they’re fantastic, and really appreciate all the hard graft your team put into making them.”
