The Client
Farnborough Airport is one of the UK’s premier private airports, handling business aviation for some of the world’s leading organisations. Behind every seamless departure and arrival is a skilled, coordinated team operating across multiple departments, from front of house to the airside operation. Telling that story, and telling it well, was exactly the challenge they brought to Nutmeg.
The Brief
Farnborough Airport came to us with a dual purpose: they needed films that would inspire and engage their existing staff, and simultaneously attract new business clients to the airport. Two audiences, one series and the films needed to work hard for both. The tone had to reflect the precision and professionalism of a world-class private airport, while also capturing the warmth and commitment of the people who make it run.
Our Approach
We spent two days filming across the airport, meeting staff from every corner of the operation; from the welcome team at the terminal to the crews working airside. Rather than a top-down corporate overview, we let the people of Farnborough tell the story: their roles, their pride in the airport, and the way different teams work together to deliver an exceptional experience.
We shot on an ARRI Alexa for the ground-level footage, capturing the detail and warmth of individual stories, and brought in a 4K drone to give the films the scale and visual ambition the airport deserved. Integrated tracked motion text reinforced key messages without interrupting the flow, and an upbeat soundtrack gave both films the energy and forward momentum that the Ahead of the Curve title promised.
The Result
The series gave Farnborough Airport a versatile creative asset that worked equally well at internal staff events and in external business development conversations. The combination of authentic people stories and high-production aerial cinematography positioned the airport as both a human organisation and a genuinely world-class operation, exactly what the brief asked for.
