This is one of dozens of healthcare animations we as an animation agency have created with Public Health England and the NHS to help the general public understand testing, screening or medical procedures. We were tasked with developing the whole look and feel and brand for the series which PHE use for all new screening animations. We worked with focus groups to ensure that the illustration, voiceover and storytelling style worked for as wide an audience as possible.
This particular film looks at the audiology tests that the NHS offers to all newborn babies. We meet baby Thomas, who features in further films in the series, and the animation using clear and simple story telling to show a wide audience what is available and what each test means. The film signposts places to seek more information and has been translated into a number of different languages.
