In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, Citizen’s Advice had been inundated with calls from people like John, who’s livelihoods hung in the balance. We worked to help John, and the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, share his story.
Following the notes from his case study and through speaking to John on the phone ahead of the shoot we were able to identify the key moments from Johns story that we were looking to capture.
We sent a charity video production crew to spend the day with him in Liverpool. We shot in a documentary style to give this film an honest, authentic tone. Working with the Alexa we were able to capture a huge range of colour data which allowed us to play with colour grade in post-production.
The story begins with desaturated footage as John describes the difficult situation, he was in. As – with the help of Citizen’s Advice – his story improves, the music changes key and we flood colour into the images, creating an uplifting, motivating final message.
